Possibly a bit of both imo..
Playing all the "well we tried" cards . Keep in mind the audience for this 'nonsense' is very similar in I.Q. to any other narrowly framed narrative. i.e.. Tools-sheds, sheep-paddock, sandwiches-picnics and so on. But they're out there and they vote. Quite possibly even if/when Albo and his gang are forced to 'follow the law" they ( A&gang) wil have still nurtured enough blind grievance in these numnuts that their anger will still resonate into a Labor vote.
This is, as you suggest , all politicking now.
All show and no go.
that said...the Law ( aplicable ) is unchanged.. The ultimate thorn in the side of the Incumbents.
