you can sell anytime tomorrow. It’s all a bit of a lottery as to how much it drops. Generally you would expect it to drop by the dividend plus the franking. Sometimes it’s slightly more than that, sometimes less. Timing is also variable - might drop all of it first thing tomorrow morning, might take a few days. I would be looking at it first thing tomorrow to see what the sells look like and try and judge it. A good stock like Ventia might recover a fair chunk quickly, on the other hand there would be a lot of people with big capital gains who might wish to exit.
