In our $10 mill IP sale, there are no 'performance obligations', so I dont think it can be tucked away until later.
From the link you sent (excellent link on IP), I think this paragraph at the bottom is what covers this scenario; again, it looks (to my untrained eye) like the sale is done and dusted... so onto revenue it goes.

However, I am not sure if the IP sale is static; perhaps there is part where the IP sale that is ongoing (any improvements are also transferred to Hologic over time as part of the $10 mill; and it is not completely done and dusted

Between you and I, we dont really care, we know it is money in the bank; but the untrained Mr Market will be all over the revenue and EBITDA number; so if we use our brains, we are ahead of Mr Market
