I appreciate that the current valuation would be attractive to many large caps out there.

The thing to understand is that this isn't Chris' first rodeo. When I spoke with Ken Brinsden back when he was with PLS he told me he had enough of the stress of running a big company and was looking to take a less public facing role. Great forward a few months he confirms that he's taking the top role at PMT. From what he's said since, it was a role he couldn't refuse. Basically the geology of Quebec is amazing and nothing like they've seen in WA.

These folks know how difficult it is to find a decent 100Mt+ deposit with great mineralogy. There is no way in hell they're going to sell. They know how valuable the land is.

Going back further, I once spoke with Niel Biddle, the founding member of PLS. I asked many years ago if they would consider selling PLS to a Rio or BHP and the abbey was a "no". He then went on to say that if he sold "what else would I do".... These guys aren't necessarily in it for the money but the thrill of discovery.
