I think the point is being missed, which is easily the case if you haven’t been involved with research before.

Before going off and researching some random topic, you agonise over what is cutting edge, innovative and can add value. If Zantrene is in fact the CPACS holy grail, you would continue to focus research around its periphery. Not drop that and start digging a tunnel elsewhere that may lead to a dead end.

Assuming Susan and Doan are in the know I think your ‘speculation’ is more plausible that some people think. These guys have spent their lifetimes looking to find something like Bisantrene, why would they move onto something else when they are still fully funded in this space?

Time will tell.
