I'll attest to that, bacci. Perth CBD building sites were/are frequently visited by Joe McDonald & Kevin Reynolds & co. Yes, intimidation on site was rife. My relly who worked there has moved on, but had some tales to tell: A good one: Only entry to the site was through one gate. A response vehicle had to be on site at all times in case of accident, the only vehicle allowed on site. entry through the gate was controlled by Stop/go "paddles".. Got the picture?
The site manager gets a call that no one can enter the site a/c someone pinched the paddles. See, the rules said that the paddles rule, lol. You can only admit via "paddles" Site manager tells the guy to hop in the vehicle & grab a couple from a neighboring site. Soon as the vehicle is out the gate, the site manager gets the call :"We're stopping work...the response vehicle has left the site, down tools". Fun & games every day...
Thats why the project was already making a loss of $40 mill....
