Yes there was a highly visible flu puffing steam from the buses into the atmosphere, and yes you could drink the water produced by the fuel cell, but people were soon learning that the hydrogen used was produced by SMR so the supposed green credentials became a laughing stock.

Surely that would be the very reason for running them on carbon negative biogas instead.
I'm still confused, were there any hydrogen buses trialled?
