And Labor’s plan to try and replace coal with "big batteries" charged by Chinese solar panels & floating off shore wind turbines anchored to the seabed with cables (a technology not yet proven) is economic and environmental madness. A sensible policy would be to immediately start on new modern coal-fired power stations so they can be turned on as the old ones are turned off - while at the same time we research & develop nuclear power for possible deployment mid-century.
