Just thinking ….
Could our first EV deal be with Mercedes for a new battery utilising AnteoX and an Anteotech optimised Sila High Silicon Anode?
Mercedes and Sila have an arrangement already (with Mercedes invested in them). The Sila anode was initially thought to be going into the G Wagon - although this has been delayed …
Yes the Sila anode contains perhaps only around 20% silicon, and uses highly refined silicon and is heavy.
But a lot of work has gone into the Sila anode already and the Anteotech High Silicon Anode is not ready yet (at least in terms of cycle numbers), whereas the Sila anode may be alot closer - especially if AnteoX has now possibly been added and their anode tweaked by Anteo and cost reductions now being factored in of $500USD by using AnteoX
The announcements below indicate that Anteo has optimised the anode design of a European EV company whilst integrating AnteoX.
So this is not the Anteo Ultra High Silicon Anode, but an existing anode design of a EV's company.
Could Mercedes (initially) run with say the Sila Anode, optimised by Anteotech and utilising AnteoX in the first instance and get a new battery out soon, especially if they are close to a design freeze.
Yes Mercedes may (will) switch to a Anteotech Ultra High silicon anode at a later date - once the cycle numbers are up and its fully optimised - but to get a battery out in the next 6-12 months - Mercedes go with the Sila anode and AnteoX.
Also could the mention that only 1 litre of AnteoX now being required (by using the EV's anode) rather than 3 litres (initially calculated from earlier presentations) be a result of that they are using a lower level of Silicon in the (Sila? ) anode of 20% vs Anteo's 70% - so don't need as much AnteoX.
Could this mean that large revenues are just that much closer for Anteo through using AnteoX initially in a third party anode … and a commercial agreement is imminent?
Just also wondering if the Ferro case had anything to do with this as well - if Anteo has helped optimise Mercedes / Sila's silicon anode which uses highly refined silicon, did Ferro think it was through any of Anteo's work with Ferro (who uses highly refined silicon)
