Good to see the words “self-defeating” in relation to UK Labour’s policy too, because that’s exactly what it is. Energy companies already operating in the North Sea should be loudly scheduling stopwork meetings of their entire workforces for a fortnight before Polling Day to initiate a consultation process on pending redundancies, as well as issuing retailers with well-publicised advance notice of substantial price increases to supply that are expected to flow through to end consumers, to take effect the week following the General Election. The industry needs to ratchet up the pressure on these social-engineering political lunatics.
