    G?day stodd,

Quickest way I do initial research on any stock is go to website or ASX.com.au & look for a recent presentation (as SFR has:

    http://www.sandfire.com.au/

    click on
    ?Global Investor Roadshow Presentation?

Or a recent quarterly report (I also definitely read the last couple of quarterly cash flow reports ? these can tell a lot).

As you see from SFR preso, they have JORC resource of:
    600,000t Cu
    660,000oz Au
    5.1m oz Ag
    & all in Australia.
OZ minerals have 19.7% & will likely take them out at some point, if price is right.
From what we?ve seen so far AVB is a relatively small deposit, albeit high grade & likely to enable ?direct ship? of their HG ore, which is the key to this one?s SP short term. Such a low cost, simple way to production is a huge bonus to a low cash junior (as they all are). I understand SFR may also have some ore rich enough to direct ship.
Poetplus had a useful go at a valuation that came out around $150m, which is the mkt cap at 20c. Plus their other plays; but these won?t be given much value?.yet.
I?ve been in the market since ?89 & retired in 2005 on my share investing. I?m super bearish & am at 95% cash & will soon be 98%. But, I enjoy playing with interesting specs, in these times where the risk/reward ratio in the market is just wrong (I?ll explain all that on the general thread or by e-mail if you like). If the major crash I?m expecting anytime in the next 12 months or so, comes along, everything will get smashed including AVB. So as I normally do with specs, I sold half at 5.7; giving me back all my cost & a 30% profit in the bank. So I can?t be hurt by AVB. I?m happy to let it run for free now.
I?m in the fortunate position to have enough, so I never need paid employment again, so being mainly cash, works for ME in MY situation. I used to post a lot back in the wild days of the tech boom & the following bull market through most of the last decade. I don?t post often now (arthritic fingers make typing a chore most days). But I was always very strong on everyone MUST do their own research (you?ll find many here have no idea & don?t bother to do any research at all) & MUST always make up their own minds on investments. We are all in different financial situations & all at different stages of the life cycle, so what is good for me (mainly cash), may not suit others like young ones with 30+ years of bull & bear markets, ahead of them.
Your mining background will be invaluable. You also seem to have that most valuable asset: common sense. Something lacking in many on these boards. The key here is to work out which posters know what they?re talking about & put them into your favourites. If pests arise, just put them on your ignore list (works really well).
Then any posts from your favourites are highlighted, so you don?t need to scroll through hundreds each day.
Some stocks that I think will be multi baggers in the LONG TERM are NEC, SMR & maybe CGG. Unfortunately in my bearish state, I?ve had to sell them all (except a small parcel of NEC). I hope to buy them back in a year or so, when I re enter the mainstream market.
I?d be interested in any other stocks you like atm?
So good luck with your investing.

    as usual;
CAVEAT EMPTOR - risk in all Investments.
Everyone should make their own investment decisions & not base them on what they might read on an Internet chat site, or receive from me (who is just an enthusiastic amateur).
Remember, this information is probably worth what you paid for it.

    cheers,

    ned.

    PS
what does the ?S? stand for?
