Russia had to step in to the Donbas, a region which was supposed to be semi autonomous, Russian speaking heritage. From Minsk agreements from when the soviets pulled out of East Berlin, that Nato would not infringe into any of former USSR blocks. Yet NATO have pulled them in. And Putin said that Ukraine was the red line. The last straw. He didnt want missiles on Russia door step, 2 minutes from Moscow. Rather 10min with Ukraine as a buffer zone. And the Ukraine Azov battalions, Nazis, were murdering Russian speakers in the Donbas. Yet the west started this NATO push into Ukraine, in 2014 with a coup that took out the pro Russian leader of Ukraine.

So Putin has taken back the Donbas, thats all he wanted. And 18 months ago, Putin had a peace agreement offered to Boris Johnson, who in the ear of Biden, rejected it because they thought they could bleed Russia, and force regime change. Like everywhere else the USA tries to militarily regime change. Not worked out so well in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.
So Putin didnt want a regime change either. With a tactical missile 2 minutes from his morning tea.

To end this war in Ukraine, all Trump has to do is agree that Putin can retain the Donbas, those people will be protected by Russia now, and the Nazis Azov battalions can stick to their own. And USA stop financing Ukraine.
Russia produces ordinances 5x ? or more/ than the west can supply to Ukraine. Stop the money flow, and Ukraine is finished.

They have financed it so far by loans to the west in lou of asset sales. The Blackrocks of the world will then own, and rebuild Ukraine. All that Ukrainian flesh poured into the meat grinder so that the greed of the West, and a view to regime change, could never happen as they underestimated the Bear.

Trump will make a simple deal IMO. No more money for Ukraine, and happy for the Donbas to be under Russian protection. Ukraine surrenders under those terms.

Thats how i see it playing out anyway.
