Lithuania's defence minister has said NATO will begin an air defence mission in the country this year.
The mission includes the deployment of a Patriot anti-aircraft system, Arvydas Anusauskas said.
"The rotational air defence system, agreed at Vilnius [NATO summit] will begin working this year at least partially," Mr Anusauskas told reporters.
The Patriot system will be deployed by a European NATO ally, he added.
It follows Albania's reopening of a Soviet-era air base which will host NATO jets.
