99.9999999999% of politicians' trip to an area of operations is waste of time for soldiers. They don't want to see them, hear them, or waste time on them .................................... What a load of rubbish!!!!
Mr Sher said one of his fallen son's highlights of his time in Afghanistan was a visit from then-Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and the soldiers needed to know the leaders of the country from both sides of politics were behind them.
"I saw a clip of Kevin Rudd's visit to Afghanistan and I actually saw my late son shaking hands with him, and he had a big smile on his face, as did all the other soldiers.
"You cannot believe the smiles on their faces and the pride in being able to shake their Prime Minister's hand. It was a huge morale boost."
