He disagreed with Hitler in a tactical planning for the allied invasion in 1944 and that's when he decided to join the conspiracy group. If Hitler listened Rommell in 1944, the 'Atlantic Wall' would have been built and the Normandy landing would not have gone as planned. Rommell was the most loyal Hitler general who had an autographed copy of Main Kempf on display in his house. He used Jewish war prisoners as 'mine dogs' and would force them to walk infront of the Germans so they would trigger any hidden mines.

He was a convinced Nazi and the only reason why he joined the group was, because of the Hitler's incompetent military leadership.
