$400 million is way unders. It's not hard to calculate a value, the only variable open for debate is the discount for risk if PAA is bought now. I figure the chances of study success at about 80%, so BP would be looking for a 50% discount in order to keep some meat on the bone. It must be recognised that if PAA increases life expectancy x 3 it also triples income. I think the asset when approved is worth USD $4.8B. Bought now = 2.4B.
