Bisantrene would not be very useful for Type 2 diabetes because of the cytotoxic nature of bisantrene, but it could be very useful as a tool compound to develop a new molecule.
The whole metabolic disease area is an a mess right now due to the GLP-1 agonists. They are causing clinical trials to go off the rails everywhere as it is found patients overcome their health issues (like Type 2 diabetes) as they lose weight. Anyone thinking of getting into this space should be careful until we know what the new normal is.
