So the report is out today. I think Allan Fels is doing the bidding for the NSW state government.
Before the last state election the funding for the new Kingsford Smith airport link was proposed to be paid for by tolling the Harbour Bridge and Tunnel BOTH WAYS (it's only tolled south bound currently) . It was hushed over before the election but the costings were reliant on this happening, and the work commenced anyway without the new tolls being put in place (thanks Gladys and Andrew Constance).
So whatdya know.. today the report is out today ... and this is EXACTLY what it proposes!
Alan Fels discussed (on ABC radio 702) this morning that one of the priorities is to add these NEW EXTRA tolls to the system to make it 'fairer'.
I should have put a yellow belly on this being the outcome of the report. So much for the INDEPENDENT report ! (Yes it affects me daily).
