    yes, the difference is manpower, the West has not given direct manpower on ground.

    But equipment it certainly has and advisors etc..

    It's difficult at best to see outcomes in detail, war is famous for that - but, what one knows is they are not pretty.

    In Europe - one can walk and drive all over the place and see old borders and thousands of monuments from all ages where battles have been

    in so many places - the ground you stand on is in the nation it was in before. Yes, things change often as well - but, mostly, not a lot changes - only more graves, more in built hatred that takes a long time to settle and new buildings out of kilter with others - because what was there was destroyed - very often with the bodies of children under them

    a feeling of the hopelessness of war can't be escaped

    with Ukraine and Russia - it's always the same as any other ---------- what now?

    to me - the Pope at least has an opinion - and it's an opinion that if it were taken up - what it would do is to stop rockets and bullets whilst people talked to each other -

    and in the end - that is what they must do.
