why would you want the article to mention cancellation of engagement with others? Besides US AF have NO engagement with BRN, at most it would be with ISIL.
unless you think USAF folks are dumb (like you?), it makes sense that they would not make double spending and fully invest in 2 companies for the same thing.
like the early access program subscribed by NASA be ayse of PR, this ISIL deal in 2022 was just PR. All PR but no substance. Hope for the best with Mercedes
