I heard, I think it was Kohler, on a Sunday evening report recently say the covid lockdown exodus from shared housing hasn't gone back to sharing their home yet, except among the foreign students and workers.... it seems horror stories of being locked in a small apartment with 3 to 8 other people have been passed on to the new high school grads and university students.
I had a few horror stories of shared housing myself in my divorcing years. I learned its far better to have a home to yourself and pay all the rent.
did you ever stay in a hostel bb? rotten places. women scared of the blokes (can't blame 'em) and boys/men running amok doesn't make it easier.
its the homelessness that worries me tho. more people and a wider range of people, including families, than ever before in Aus history. and no real swaggies.
