There is similar satellite data over the PEL 87 Saturn prospect area.I wonder what that shows.? All very interesting. Certainly shows the presence of a petroleum system in the offshore Orange Basin!. As this work was apparently commissioned by Total, would have given Total more confidence in the presence of operating hydrocarbon system before they drilled their US$150 million wildcat Venus in 3,000 metre water depth!
Of course the risk is that the sea surface oil seeps show that all the hydrocarbons have escaped or that all the prospects are fill to spill point and then leaking. The leaking from spill point seems to be the case so far, based on the light oil discoveries made to date.
