Look mate, you are doing the "*** argument" again wrongfully characterising my posts as pro Russian when in essence they are anti-War because IMO, war is a failure of civilisation and all that we hold near & dear.
For example somewhere between 55 million and 75 million lives were lost in WW2 . Did the outcome justify that or would it have been wiser/more civilised to have found an alternative means of dealing with Nazi Germany and its Axis? IMO yes.
IMO, the continuation of this Ukrainian war (proxy The West vs Russian Federation) is simply sleepwalking us into WW3 and the "death cultist" advocates on these threads are inadvertently wishing for that, IMO.
Im keenly aware that the principle of Sovereign rights features in our difference of opinion on this war: (a) That you maintain that the Ukraine has Sovereign Right to join NATO and by implication allow NATO (defacto the USA) to base WMDs aimed at Russian population centres on its soil and to curtail Russian Naval access to the Black Sea .
(b) Me: That Sovereign Rights are limited if their exercise pose a perceived risk to a neighbour's National Security; particuluarly if that neighbour is a Great Power.
Let me give you an historical example: The Cuban Missile Crisis.
Now let me give you a hypothetical derivative of that (you like logic according to you):
That PNG as a member of China's BRI joins China's Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and agrees to China basing WMD in southern PNG aimed at Aus.
Which of (a) or (b) above would apply in your opinion (and dont prevaricate ....just answer the question please?)
And so it is with this Ukrainian War, IMO. Russia as a Great Power only 2nd to the USA in Nuke ability, sees a NATO WMD equipped Ukraine as a Sovereign threat just as it has seen that of Georgia joining NATO#. To canvass the silly argument that this war is all about Putin's land grab (stealing land) may make sense to a primitive farmer in the 3rd world but is absurd when you consider that Russia is the biggest country in the world by landmass (most unexplored/undeveloped) with a relatively small population.
