Mincor is an Australian company, which means that it converts all of its revenue and thus dividends to Australian dollars. Say you sell 1 pound of nickel for $10 USD (hypothetical price to make the example easier to work with). If the AUD is only 70c per USD, Mincor's Australian revenue from the sale would be $7 AUD. If instead the AUD is 0.975c (as it is now), then Mincor's income would be $9.75 AUD.
Another way of looking at it (using the same example):
-when the AUD is 70c, the nickel price in AUD is only $7 per pound.
-when the AUD is 97.5, the nickel price in AUD is $9.75 per pound.
In other words, the combination of high AUD and nickel price in recent weeks should have propelled MCR's SP into outer space. But the cappers are making sure that doesn't happen until they've secured an extremely undervalued holding.
