"Unless your a short term trader these hourly and daily up's and downs are absolutely nothing to worry about and meaningless."
I disagree completely.
A stable, strong share price allows certainty and adds a sense of safety.
People will buy into such a company more readily than one that exhibits a weak, declining share price.
Days upon days of poor performance in an otherwise strong and increasing share market lends a feeling of "something isn't quite right hear" and new people that might be interested in buying in are put off.
It also affect people's overall portfolios and often those that are underperfoming get cut loose thus adding to selling pressure.
Many people that own shares have automatic rules that they follow once a share price has declined a certain percent and dump the shares as they are then found to have been a mistake and violated their holding rules.
This selling also builds a wall of future sellers that must be overcome to lead to new highs. Everyday the selling continues that wall becomes higher and higher. We'll need some really, really heavy volume days to take out the new sellers.
So, that is the situation we have now with SSN.
Over the medium term (3 months) the undervaluation of this company in the share market will lead to a T/O and the seeds are now being set as a result of this selling and poor share price performance.
