imo all produced goods should post a sticker that lists the emissions during production. this way people can choose to avoid the producers wasting carbon gases and opt for companies that produce less emissions.
you're right, its not just the emissions released by operation of the vehicle. like with coal mines which don't count scope emissions related to production.
