@jevalent Like @Boro, I concur with your points made re Shorting.
    Shorter's produce NOTHING

As the PNV share price rises on good news as has been recently, more shorters seem to open a position, when the market hits resistance, as they don't believe the prices can support themselves at those levels, however if the price doesn't fall, it helps push our price up as they rush to close their position.

If day traders see the price falling they sell at the lows, helping short sellers improve their position - This is when the SP can fall suddenly, clearly that's what's happening now.
In my view when a fund starts to take a position in a company it drives the share price up - we all love that, however once they have a position, they short the share price down to an unrealistic level and then approach the company offering them funds at a price in return for an allocation of shares to cover their position. Most companies will use this money to expand or pay down Debt ! and the rest of us get screwed.

Until the ASX seriously sort out this manipulation matter it's here to stay and they will continue to burn retail investors by shaking the trees that is not a great outcome for the economy.
