    IMO K Rudd should be the Aus Ambassador to China because
    he knows more about China than any Aussie alive and he
    speaks fluent Cantonese & he's an ex-pm.

    PS: IMO the AUKUS subs are a sham and will never be built;
    instead we'll be paying for a half dozen US Nuke subs patrolling
    our region just as the Europeans will be asked to "pony up" and
    pay for US protection. The US just can't keep on accruing debt
    at the current rate on its military and proxy wars given that Cold War
    arms spending sunk the USSR economically

    The big benefit of Nuke subs is their Nuke arms and as such
    they can supply a second strike and, perhaps as such, prevent a
    first strike by either China or Russia or China/Russia combined.

    The elephant in the room is "if we get Nuke Subs", will they be
    nuke armed? If not, then they are merely show ponies because
    the next major war will likely be Nuke and as such the Nuke
    triumvirate will respectively regard a major war as existential .

    So in summary, Rudd's talents are lost in the USA and would be
    better employed as Ambassador to China where our real national wealth
    has come from over the past 20 years.
