Sierra Leone First Lady presents 240 scholarships to students.

In her relentless effort to ensure that children achieve their future, First Lady Sia Nyama Koroma yesterday evening presented 240 scholarships to deserving students and pupils from primary, secondary and tertiary institutions.

This scholarship is 180 more than the 60 scholarships awarded last year under the First Lady Attitudinal Change in schools (FLAXIS). These scholarships are awarded to pupils and students from all over the country. The scholarships were made possible by Mercury International and Cape Lambert mining company.

Mrs. Koroma stated that as part of the FLAXIS Project, "we will be coming out with text books on Citizens Education on attitudinal and behavioural change in Sierra Leone".
She thanked her partners, Mercury International and Cape Lambert Mining company for their generous contributions to help 240 students this academic year.

Mrs. Koroma further admonished all the recipients to take their studies very seriously and to work assiduously to achieve very good results , she admonished them to be punctual in school, say no to drugs or alcohol, denounce violence, be cheerful to one and other, be polite and respect elders and those in authority.

Representative from Cape Lambert Mining Company, recognized the importance of investing in education. He wished the recipients best of luck and urged them to put their heads down to achieve their goals. Entertainment by Future Kids and Dance Troop climaxed the occasion.
