those whose primary source of income is dividends appreciate the solid progressive dividend and their capital appreciation. it's very easy to budget for.
during the flash crash when dividends from banks were stopped in Europe (there were questions in Au) Millner said the only mistake they have made was not increasing dividends.
together SOL/BKW are never going to shoot any lights out but you know what you are getting but dividends are hard to budget for index funds they are volatile during a crisis.
if you want real outperformance you don't want SOL/BKW they are plodders. boring & consistent.
