I'm very interested to see which way SI will lean, both from a personal financial perspective and a more, general observation of human nature perspective. It seems logical that his current, reduced net worth, and the financial state of the company, would make him less demanding in discussions with a partner.

The flip side of that is that he has shown a strong history of seemingly wanting to do things his way. He has also spent a significant chunk of his professional life trying to get MSB's products to market - will he be okay with giving a significant part of his life's work away, for a relatively, smaller reward? He may be okay with the smaller financial reward, and may value the professional kudos that comes with getting what could be a significant contribution to global health, out into the wider world. Or he could say I had a net worth of 1.8B 10 years ago, I should have a net worth of more than that for persevering through, what must have been, some very difficult times.

I can't wait to see which way he goes.
