I think this is the chart that gives you a very good look into the future of demand.
Compares the history of energy density, which is how much energy you get from each unit of weight from a battery, which is effectively the range of an EV. The other is the cost of batteries.
We are currently nearly at the stage where range and purchase cost are very close to that of an ICE vehicle.
So where will we be in 5 years? Battery costs themselves have approximately halved in the last 12 months.
So do we want to focus on getting in the way of the above, which is ultimately impossible, or do you embrace it? Australia really is in a better position than almost any.
