The main reason fruit and vegetable production has declined is the supermarkets duopoly. They have spent decades forcing producers to accept prices below the cost of production and many are just walking away. That combined with a lack of labour to harvest and pack means that all the city and surburban foragers miss out. Might be a good lesson to learn. Value your farmers or go hungry.
