The approval for the filling of ponds is not directly tied to the general OMP approvals, which are now sitting with the Feds. The approvals for pond filling, and other specific activities, was previously summarised in the original approval for the Mardie S&P project and was further detailed in Ministerial Statement 1175, which was issued back in November 2021, and can still be accessed via the WAMSI website at - https://wamsi.org.au/research/programs/mardie-project/.

The relevant details of MS1175 re pond filling have now been updated and carried over into the more recent WA EPA approval for the OMP.

Essentially, the requirements for Pond Filling require written guarantees re implementation from BCI, which 'could' hypothetically be submitted for approval, independently of the main OMP approvals. The fact that these guarantees for pond filling have not yet been provided would indicate to me that BCI, for what ever reason, have not been able to provide those guarantees.

BCI appear to be saying that delays with the 'approvals' are 'beyond their control'. It's clear therefore they are blaming others for their inability to obtain approvals.

Again, with regard to pond filling only, BCI have known of the requirements for pond filling since late 2021, so to be blaming others for delays some 2 & a bit years later seems quite petty to me.

Simples.....!!!???
