Those were my thoughts also; can you suggest a reason why they did not attempt this from FP1; would seem obvious, so I assume they had good reasons not to do so.
With SW, you suggest the possibility that ".. they are drilling over worked prospects." ; Surely they would have to disclose this? We know that shallower sands have been exploited, but I thought this level was being exploited for the first time as a result of the 3 or 4 test wells. I put the result down to the variability of the sand, and again horizontal drilling comes to mind as an option to.
It seems to me that SW can be reasonably profitable,
after looking at the drilling costs, ie it can be a viable project, provided that they get a similar flow from each well and the PO stays where it is.
