I happen to know that Howard bathes every day - so he's at least a clean rat -

and (shh! it's a secret) that he actually changed his mind and proposed a GST, and took it to a General election which he won. This took guts, and was at least publicly honest.

That's a bit different to re-neging on policy promises immediately AFTER a General Election, entering into a Greens Coalition on a desperate whim as a last resort to cling to Power as Caretaker PM, or making a complete mess up of the policies you brought in post-election, such as the Pink Batts, BER, MIning Tax, etc, and then transferring responibiity for all YOUR messes on your co-messer - Rudd. And pretending the messes didn't happen, and that you're a squeaky clean Saint yourself.

No, Gillard wins the Dirty Rat comp hands down.
    Rudd second.
    Swan third.

    Hooray for Gillard!

So your posts' bottom by-line is a "bit" incorrect don't you think!
