I have read quite a bit about the reasons the US has managed to rope Europe into this debacle.
They want to weaken Europe and especially prevent Germany from becoming more of a world power , and this seems to be working, with added benefit that it is strengthening the US financially with a bumper crop of weapons getting sold .
The arms merchants are ridding themselves of old stock at good prices even if it the US public that is paying .
