The sooner AI takes over decision making from politicians the better - surely couldn't be worse than having our lives ruled by the pluckwittery of human stupidity, bias, agendas, emotions, religion, greed and power plays. Generally speaking, I don't think governments give a rats freckle about the poor or what they could contribute to society if educated and houses. Hell, they think nothing of murdering a few hundred thousand civilians, including women and little kids. If our political species don't change their destructive, inept ways (and they won't), it won't be long before humanity faces an extinction event. Perhaps that's what the aliens are waiting for.
