100 years from now, they will look back & say "they burnt ALL THAT COAL to achieve a 30% efficiency in electricity generation??? Centralised systems were sooooo inefficient!"
Ask any Engineer who understands the concept. Decentralised Energy is not only more efficient, but it's MORE SECURE because of it's "interdependent" nature. We just have to upgrade the Grid to accomodate Fuel Cells, Solar & Wind. It can be done, it just requires planning & new infrastructure. Once it's in place, the volume of energy being consumed (per housegold) will reduce. Multiply this by millions of Households and it really starts to add up : )
