It's refreshing that some understand that the purpose of stating that the pilot plant was "500tpa" was to provide context to the relative scale of the equipment and the throughput, in relation to the spectrum of development from "lab test" to "commercial scale".
It provided context that the equipment and the process was adequately representative of an upscaled plant, so that the risks of progressing to an upscaled plant could be mitigated. Anyone assuming that the pilot plant would eliminate all scaling risks is delusional.
Those now claiming that the pilot plant "never worked" - simply because there are issues to sort through with the subsequent/current plant - clearly do not understand the process of progression from bench-top to commercial scale.
Readers should beware of the wolves in sheep's clothing that claim to want "genuine discussion" of these topics, but continually push their fundamentally flawed and often blatantly incorrect claims about what has/hasn't been achieved.
