A prototype is a working model, before anything goes into mass production.
Emphasis on the word 'working
The pilot plant was , AFAIK, to see if the system works, and produced battery grade lithium, at the end of the sequence.
I still don't understand, if the tiny little plant worked, just 'literally ' multiply every single component, and it will work again, BUT on a bigger scale.
Therefore, producing MORE BGL at the end of the new BIGGER sequence ?
It's a reasonable way to think, imo...
