Yeah fair enough too. I reckon you sold out post ex-dividend looking at the date of your post?
I've been toying with the idea of selling. Thought about selling half of my holding and like you, considered averaging up. Then I thought that I'd held for so long that I wanted to maximise my returns. So I shelved the temptation. Let's say that this deal finally goes through. Who knows where the market will be in the second half of the year? It might provide an opportunity to take a big swing at something else. Or maybe not...
But I can see the merit in what you've done. The problem is that some of the stocks (not all of them) that I hold (and you hold) have had such big runs, that it's hard to allocate more capital at this point in time. But it seems like you're on the ball with having your dough parked somewhere sensible whilst you wait like a coil ready to spring into action!
