Putin and Poroshenko the chocolate king thought Minsk could work, Zelensky when he first met Putin told him it would be implemented in 25 years. Putin was hopeful it could be progressed rapidly with Poroshenko out of the way and Zelensky running on a platform of peace in the east.
Is what Ukraine and Russia has now a better deal than Minsk.
Should have gone for it. The March 2022 peace deal was basically Minsk 3. NATO said no.
As Merkel later admitted Minsk was about buying Ukraine time and preparing for war with Russia.
