The Supreme Court's role is to apply the law, not be subservient to whatever the current elected government's agenda is. That being said, the government can change legislation to bring the court to a decision that is desirable. We saw this with the Cementa case where an emergency bill was introduced and a change to the Environmental Code occurred in order to keep them operating.

As for the current time it's taken, no I don't think much can be read into it. We're going by average times and what the court's targets are, but perhaps this isn't a reliable indicator as less substantial cases could possibly distort and lower that average. Look at Botnia Exploration and their small gold project as an example. After the Land and Environmental Court of Appeal rejected appeals in December 2020, it still took another 10 months before the Supreme Court would also reject the next stage of appeals. A positive decision that shows case time isn't a reliable indicator of a positive or negative result. I certainly don't believe our case will take another 4 months for a decision, but something to consider in order to temper expectations.
