The feed that they are given is vegetable matter, the carbon that it contains comes from the atmosphere, when it is eaten some of it goes back into the atmosphere. If it is uneaten and decays on the ground it releases the same methane. Animals are part of the carbon cycle, no new carbon is added to the atmosphere.
This is just a great example of the climate change junk science.
