If you don't need silver and can achieve better results with copper why not aluminium? Surely silver was used for its anti-corrosive properties?
I would be interested in the life span of panels using copper compared to silver. It maybe cheaper but will it last? Any atmospheric or environmental testing done?.
Silver was taken out of photography which improved availability. Maybe copper panels will be better in the vacuum of space which is corrosion free.
Time will tell I guess.
