Whenever we discuss aboriginal affairs there is a reference to using "aboriginal elders", some form of reverence is given to them.
It's bull dust. The days of "elders" deserving respect are long over. Perhaps a generation ago there were genuine aboriginal elders who could offer leadership.
Elders are no more worthy in the aboriginal than in the non aboriginal community. Many aboriginal elders are drunken, violent sexual predators who well deserved their many years in prison.
"Elders" such as Bruce Pascoe? Elders such as those in city universities milking the system?
Aboriginal communities are cess pits of violence and children with VD. They need proper authority and order that aboriginals haven't been able to apply to themselves. Get real.
