The latest drilling data indicated the increased water within the area: "Less optimal sample recovery was observed in select RC and diamond holes associated with increased groundwater and where the units are highly-weathered and friable."
Most open pits have water issues, dewatering at Luni may be problematical and or disruptive without extensive hydrological research to ensure future production is not impacted during infrequent yet significant rainfall events.
