Battery energy storage is the answer until snowy hydro 2 is up and running!
The Eastern seaboard peak is approx 35 Giga watts now but best guess estimates is 50 Gigawatts in 2050. Our biggest battery in the world, Moss Landing, California batteries can supply 0.75 Giggawatts for 4 hours.
Go figure!

doesn't SA 'buy' energy from the other states via that interstate cable? thats why your electricity is so expensive. am I wrong?
