You guys do realise it will be at least 5 years before Capricorn is anywhere near opening again right?

As it stands you have 300m of acidic water the the EPA won't let you pump out until you throw literally hundreds of thousands of tonnes of alkali on a continual basis to counter the sulphite leeching into the water?

Every road around the pit needs to be relaid with concrete powder / cobble at least 24 inches deep to support the Haulpacks and every inch of tunnel and shaft needs complete meshing with 2 ft bolts to all sides and roof, plus reinforcing the floor.

All new electricals system from the entrance onwards, ventilation and lighting.

Removal of abandoned vehicles and plant.

After years underwater - the risk of collapse to tunneling or shafts in very high.

Then it will all need to be safety permitted again - inc the plant and feeder etc.

29M have 2 choices:

Sell GG and try to renegotiate debt to restore Cap - and who would trust the management when they couldn't even install a decent flood prevention berm system AFTER THE FIRST FLOOD! - forget any more insurance.

OR: sell the debt on Cap to a company that specialises in mine recovery and make GG profitable again.

Probably best to try to sell 'the debt' and potential of Capricorn fro a cent on the dollar.

There is no way that site will be restored to safety with permits and tailings before 2030.

Anyone thinking this is a short-term issue is.....mistaken.
